Diamond Aviators Association had a great fly-in at the Jekyll Island Club and Hotel, Georgia on Sunday April 11th 2010. We had 13 aircraft and 26 members join in the fun and come on down for a fun day of presentations and discussions of Diamond aircraft. This was a great chance to meet other owners and get to know each other. The day included transportation to and from the airport to the Hotel for a brunch and a safety presentation by Mike Rigg. The fun started as some of us met up along the way for a four aircraft formation flight and a fun journey on the way to the event. We met up at First Flight Airport, Kitty Hawk North Carolina on Saturday the 10th for a morning tour of the historic site. Departure from there was at 1:30PM for a low level formation down the coast to to Brunswick County airport South Carolina (KSUT) to refuel and then on to Jekyll Island (09J). On the way, we got to see some of the nicest coastline on the East coast, beautiful lighthouses and wild horses of Shackleton Banks. Saturday night we had a great dinner at the resort. Sunday morning brunch was served, and it was a chance for everyone to meet the other Diamond Aviator pilots and guests. Our safety presentation by Mike was a great time and brought up much discussion between the attendees. We had giveaways for all those that attended including hats, calendars and Garmin database subscriptions. Jekyll Island Club and Hotel provided transportation to and from the airport and the resort was beautiful. This is definitely going to be an annual event for us.Our next planned fly-in is going to be to Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia on October 9-10th. Stay tuned for more details on that to follow. Please send email to DiamondAviator@cox.net if you want to register for this event or have any questions on this fly-in or membership. See you there!
